Our team at Defy.vc, is excited to start the New Year with the announcement that Elevate Security has been acquired by Mimecast!
We are all aware that cybersecurity has become a top priority for organizations large and small with reports of account takeovers and massive data breaches constantly in the news. When I first met Robert Fly and Masha Sedova, their insight that most security incidents are the result of human error from a small number of individuals in an organization resonated with me.
Their idea that Workforce Risk could be quantified — and thereby used as a platform to implement automated security response and controls — has now been proven out through deployments at enterprises ranging from Pepsico to Bristol Myers Squibb, and through partnerships with industry leaders including Microsoft, Cisco, Crowdstrike, Sailpoint, Booz Allen Hamilton, and of course Mimecast.
Congratulations to the entire Elevate Security team on today’s announcement. It has been a privilege to serve as a director on the board on behalf of Defy.vc and to collaborate with Robert, Masha, Nick, Mark, Megan, Kirby, and other members of the team, as well as with co-investors Costanoa Ventures, Foundry Group, In-Q-Tel, Cisco, Crowdstrike, and Salesforce Ventures.
It is gratifying to see that the company has been recognized for the value of what the team has built, and we are all excited for the path ahead together with Mimecast where the mission will carry forward at a greater scale.
